In talking with one of the directors, who was a large stock¬ holder, I found him favorably incUned toward the project, so much so that I concluded to get up a complete set of drawings of a mill and a general plan for the layout. I knew that plates were in demand, and the demand was sure to increase, and there was great money in the business. I thought it would be well to have a set of drawings and ground plan made, but the plate-miU scheme, for the time, came to an abrupt end.
