to Pic Office.    My Chapters to stand over to next-week.
Met Bob Gun � seemed dullish.   To Constellation Office
again, saw Park Benjamin who was kind enough to 
read out one of his editorials to me.   He enjoyed it so
much that I was glad to give him the opportunity.
Round to Frank Leslie�s.  Story I took in accepted.  Al-
ways so there � wish they had plenty of money.  Returned
to dinner.    Drawing.   At 9 or 10 summoned
to the floor below, to Mrs Patten�s room, by Mr El-
dredge, to drink a glas of champagne with him, her, 
Mrs Eldredge and Mrs Berry.        Principally a com-
mittee of disquisition on Mrs Gouverneur.
  1.  Tuesday.  Drawing hard till 4 �, then ta-
king block to Omnibus office, looked in at Pic &
Constellation ones.   Melancholic, wearied, out of sorts.
Writing to Hannah at night, but felt so tired that
I didn�t finish the letter.
  2.  Wednesday.  To tailors, F. Leslie�s, Contella-
tion, Omnibus, Post and Pic Offices.   Met Roberts
the engraver with Dickinson & Weed�s brother in at
the Rainbow.  Hither and thither.  Back, drawing
till late at night.
3.	Thursday.  Down town � drawing, writing,
