  The habit of appealing to brute force, in other words the murderous princi-
ple, is a most alarming feature in the present day.  Even the reporters for
Temperance journals travel on their muscle, and �bob around� when under
the influence of a �rooster extremity,� seeking whom they may devour.  It is
a painful exhibition to see a clever young man thus led away by debauched ac-
quaintances and a sixpenny tod.  Let us weep!
