[newspaper clipping] Captain Samuel Whiting, well known as a prom- inent member of the Arctic expedition of 1855, and subsequently a bold consul at Nassau, New Providence, during the war, when surrounded on every side by rebel sympathizers, is now living in retirement at Cleveland, Ohio, whence he oc- casionally emerges as a lecturer.
