7 Sunday. Abed till late, breakfast, and then
scribbling awhile. Dinner, then through dank streets
and moist atmosphere to the Atlantic Street ferry, and
thus to Brooklyn, (meeting by the way the �Doctor� whom
heretofore I met at Pictons; who, speaking of him said
he was �toddying pretty freely of late,� having naught else
to do.) Called at Dunsiers, sate awhile with
him and wife; � then on to Sand Street, and supped
with Davis. Played draughts afterwards with him, �
left at 9, back to New York, to Franklin and
bed about 11.
8. Monday. Down town, Traveler Office &c,
Lockingtons, writing, drawing &c. Afternoon, I think
the same. Evening made a sketch [words crossed out]
