10. Wednesday. Finishing the Reveille things, to Ann
Street with �em, calling at Genins by the way. A brother
of his like to die, so I couldn�t bother him. To Reveille
Office. Got $3 from Barton; to Lockington�s, then to
Traveler Office. Wrote notices for Holbrook, (at Hawkins
confession of inf-eriority!) [words crossed out] ^|Forms| all ready; � couldn�t go to
press yet, as the printers were engaged on other paper. To
the Post Office. Back to Traveler. Then to Franklin.
Dined, then the brief afternoon hour purchasing things for
fire � 2 Bushels of Coal, Shovel &c. Evening got fire
after some difficulty, and then drew Reveille cut. Then
fire went out from inattention. Wrote the preceding six
pages, and now am going to bed, after head-washing.
