              10.  Saturday.  Drawing awhile on wood, then
down town to Traveler and Reveille Offices; Mathew
&c.  Post Office & others.   Drawing big block for
Traveler in the afternoon.  Lockington came
for it.   Work in the evening.
  11. Sunday.  Writing to my mother till
sunset and after.  Then to Mulberry Street, called
for Joe, with him to Chapins.  He not preaching,
to Holts, where visiting Mr Hart we sate round
the Store in converse until 9 or so, Left and
parting from Joe, called at Mrs Kidders. She,
Jane Gibson and Mason there, the latter smoking
cigar in defiance of both.  Sate and listened
and talked an hour or two.     Heard how
Picton and Picayune Scoville had both been
enamoured of Mrs G Brown, when Mrs Bar
tholomew � the latter writing awful long letter
which Mrs K had read.   No news of
