Office on Thursday morning, through fast fal-
ling snow.
  23.  Friday.   Putting Reveille subject for
the current week on wood.  Took it there
after dinner.   To Lockingtons, Holbrooks &c.
Waud at Lockington�s.      Holbrook walked
back with me.     Evening Barth came, and
subsequently Joe.   At Barths suggestion, all
out, took sleigh up one on the avenues,
singing, �hi hi ing� and howling in a great
state of exhilaration.   My first sleigh ride.
Returned after imbibing, in my room awhile,
then Barth and Joe left, and to bed.
  24. Saturday.   Finished outline.  Out 
after dinner, to Reveille Office.  Got paid
$3/50.  To Lantern Office.  Saw the
Engraver who works there.  No one else in.
