hungry ride back, stews and at depot and a make up
for it at the Southern restaurant
Ripley with me.	      Howell
off for Baton Rouge again.           A
good deal with Ripley.   Saw Baker
occasionally.

tail.    Evening with Hamilton & 
B. Hills to presentation of plate 
to Col. Thorpe,      Slack & Tracy.
H. Hills tells me, secretly, that he
is to become the Lieut. Colonel of a
negro regiment.
