              white slaves in blue uniforms.        Hoisted sail,
and for Governors Island, anticipating rain fast
and furious, which however we �scaped, being at
the Hospital in time.               Drew on wood during
the evening.    Storm without .     Abed about 2.
  3. Thursday.   Drew, then to New York, via
Brooklyn.   Called at Dickinsons, & to room,
drew awhile. /     Down town, dined, to Lockingtons &c
and then to Governors Island again.    Drew afternoon
and evening. Lantern and Reveille subjects.
  4. Friday. Had intended to return to the city
but it rained all day. Drew &c. Sent blocks over
to Dickinson.   Wrote a letter to Dillon Mapother.
  5. Saturday.   Crossed.   To Pearl St,
Got a note from Dillon Mapother.  Sent off my
letter.  Called at Dickinsons,   at the Reveille,
(getting $16) at the Lantern &c.   To room about
1.  Waited till Randell came with blocks. Paid
