              supping, to Patten�s � did not see Richardson though.
  8.  Tuesday.  Work on the Reveille blocks,
did three smaller ones &c.   Holbrook called.
Out through the plashing rain.  To Nagle�s, dined,
to Dickinsons, Post Office, Wells and Webb,
Mathews & Lockington.   Return, rain still
and incessant.   Did one Reveille two-column.
Weed called.   Davis anon.    At 8 or so to
supper at the Reade Street shades, where in
the course of the evening I met Laurie, the little
�Doctor,� of Hart�s acquaintance.     Talking awhile,
then to room and bed.      /              Kossuth is here
back in New York again, � not thirty yards
from where I write, at the Irving.  The time will
come when that will be something to ponder over.
  9.  Wednesday.   Drawing other Reveille
two column.  Randall and another woodpecker
