              of the Whig Review, a long talk with Champion 
Bissell.  Paid me $14 for Story.   To Lantern
Office again.   Met Barth.  Dined together at Gos-
lings, walked to the Battery where I left him.
To the Hoboken Ferry, and crossed, called at
Mr Charles, he out, rambled, called again
saw him, settled about Reveille cuts, returned to
New York.  Hoboken looked very beautiful in all
its leafy July beauty.               Called at Dobson´┐Żs in
Canal Street, on Baudoin, who liveth there again.
Says the place has deteriorated awfully.  Walked
down Broadway with him and two of his compatriots,
then to my room and bed.
  8. Thursday.  Down town, calls, Reveille
Lantern &c .   At work on Reveille cuts.  Barth
called in afternoon, Randall & Dickinson called.
for cuts.         Evening, after supping with Swin-
ton, Fay & Waud at Goslings; to Brooklyn
