              good week�s work and down town to breakfast.   I
like this matin walk extremely.  The morning�s
breath welcomes you sweet and wooingly, the sunlight
seems to laugh outright joyously, and my walk
through the Park is a downright pleasure.    It�s less
difficult to be reconciled to City life, � more easy to
not think of want & vice at such times.         Return,
and at work on a �Lantern �  social.  Finished it by
1/2 past 1 on wood, & took it down.     Dined.  To
Lantern Office.  Brougham & Powell.   Return and
drawing on wood again .     Evening after an hours
desultory waiting for Waud & Fay, down town with
them, with intention of supping at Goslings � but
they had delayed so long the place was closed.    So they
went to the Rainbow, & I, not feeling carnivorous
went to Van N�s and had some clams, then
returning to my room & bed by 1/2 past 10.
