  27. Tuesday.  Was aroused at my own request at 4,
and with some thirty more breakfasted most satisfactorily
in the large hotel dining room.   Then having paid my
dollar, into the attendant omnibus, which being well
filled, rolled off through the dim dank misty
morning and towards the dep�t.     There arriving we
tarry till the train arrives from New York, with its
three or four hundred excessively miserable sleeplessly
sleepy night travellers.   The mist and wet hung
around so clammily that all their windows were
closed (of course,) and the in-pent atmosphere
might have disgusted a Sewer Rat.       So, allowing
the crowd of Elmirites to rush in, I tarryed at
the rear of one of the cars with the brakemen, and
with a whizz and roar, off we start.   Mist
