Strangers caught come dozen fish, Dillon two, a Weak fish,
(so called I s�pose from their imbecility in getting hooked,) and a
very unprepossesing looking article ycleped Toad-fish. I caught none.
Back to the Battery, landed our two Stranger�s, � one of �em
was a selfish cub in all concience; � wanted to be put ashore at
Brooklyn, despite the convenience of the party who�d obliged him, &
also asked Dillon for his solitary fish � and had it! Met
Damoreau at de-barkation. To Erford�s, I & Dillon to my-
room for a wash. I very weak and queer. Bed soon. /

25. Saturday. Going down town to Gosling�s for breakfast
met Royal, and anon Roberts. Post Office, calls &c. Back
and drawing hard all day. Mr Hart called, and Edward Great-
batch. / Felt extreme headache & weariness all day. Evening
to Gymnasium with Waud, but couldn�t exercise. Took a
cold bath which set me shuddering like an ague, yet without feeling
chilled. Erford�s for a brief space. Damoreau there.
