Abstract
O'Brien begins with a discussion of his thoughts on theater and discusses how the American theater should be improved. He makes a comparisson to the French, and finds Americans lacking in taste and mangagement. O'Brien makes a point to argue that managers should not also be actors. O'Brien also reviews Taylor's Going to the Bad at Wallack's, gives his thoughts about Mr. Ulman of the Academy of Music, and notes the theater abroad.
