Abstract
After asserting that he is an "Old Bachelor" who lives on the third floor of his sister's mansion, the author recalls a night in which it appears his sister's home has been visited by spirits, or ghosts, who have stolen various things. He ingeniously works out a plan to catch the "spirits" who turn out to be the servants in the home.
