Abstract: Pinero relates that he sent a little play to Watson who feared it was too "temperamental" for the Haymarket, which Pinero supposes to mean that it is not "sufficiently sentimental." He has sent it on to Mr. Leon and Leslie Faber; Pinero promises to refer either of those gentlemen to Brown if he hears back from them. A successful playwright, Pinero's works include The second Mrs. Tanqueray and Trelawney of the "Wells": a comedietta in four acts. Curtis Brown was a journalist and a literary agent who published his reminiscences Contacts in 1935.
