Yours of the 10th was received yesterday and I was glad to hear from you once more and hear that you was well. Your boy is not well and I am affraid [sic] will not be soon for I cannot get any medicine down here for they have none, my bowels are some better but in a bad condition yet and I have that old disease in my back it is no [?] that it hurts me to move and I went to the doctor yesterday and he had nothing for me and told me to bath it with cold warter [sic], I cannot eat anything as it passis [sic] right through me, and am giting [sic] very weak and I want you if you can spare the money to send me some extract of Ginger and some of Aunties Linement and send me about three pints or two quarts of wiskey [sic]. I want the wiskey [sic] to take to strengthen me and kill the water with just put them in a small bag and Direct them to Capt. G.W. Scott 10th, H.G. Noll Suffolk, Va and to not put in anything with them that will spoil. Our Regt has not got back yet they were fired into the other night while on the march and one man out of Con ny killed dead [?] and one wounded. But they have had no fighting since but I should not wonder if they would have a big fight here soon as the Gray backs are all arrond [sic] us. I will send you an account I left them. I wrote to Davi on the 3rd and 10th of this month and yesterday the letters came back with a note from the orderlie of his Gen stating that he was taken prisoner on the 3rd and had bin sent to Richmond. I must close as I do not feel like writing. hoping that this will find you all well, and that I can soon say the same. Giv [sic] [?] my love all of you.
